  1. Who said 30 WAS the new 50? Life changes for everyone all the time & people get divorced in their 20's 30's 40's & 50's.....and not everyone has kids either~ "life begins to change in the late 40's", that's a blanket statement for sure......

  2. No, it is not. It is the new 90. Never in history were 40 and 50 year olds so invisible. 20 years ago you didn't get thrown to the lions until you were 65. I HATE THIS COUNTRY.

  3. The author to me had a negative point of view - and I say that as someone over 60 who keeps reinventing and creating a new opportunity for myself every week! Is it easy? No. Is it satisfying, Yes - once you give up hanging on to some dream about security and certainty that you can;t find today no matter what your age. You always have a choice about how you view your circumstances. Which choice is more empowering?

  4. I like your point of view Pegotty. I am 44 and I just found new hobbies thst lead me to new job opportunities. I have 2 kids under 6 that keep my life bussy and rewarded. My husband always says "give me ways of doing things, not reasons not to do them". Yes we are older than some, but hopefully also more experienced, mature and skilled. So, show how good you are. In the last 6 months I got 2 interesting job offers, just by conversing to people. You just need to start by believing yourself that you are rigth for the job.
