This job is actually NOT for the dogs... PET FOOD TASTERS are checking for consistency, texture and, yes, flavor. Smell is important and so is the visual appeal. 

Tasters do not actually swallow the food; they taste and spit it out. Pet food tasters usually do more than just sample food - they test for nutritional content, formulas, and production methods. The average pay is about $40,000 a year, but could be much more depending on your education and skill level,
